Starting back in the early 1990’s, my family started out in the cooling unit business as first CCRV (which is about when i was born) and later RVCOOL (where i grew up). In 2020 my dad made the decision to retire and ultimately sold RVCOOL. Wanting to carry on the tradition, and stick with what i truly know and love, I opened Ozark Cooling Units in early 2021. Just like my dad had his dad (my grandpa) as a mentor all these years, I am blessed to have both men and their knowledge in my corner. Now with a son of my own, who knows how far this will go, but i am going to enjoy the ride. Like my grandpa always said, i’m ready to ‘Just roll with it!’
My dad started in the cooling unit business in the early 1990's. In his 29 years in the cooling unit industry, my dad made great strides in not only growing the business and devolving new proprietary manufacturing procedures and equipment. In the later years he says his biggest accomplishment was using years of experience and knowledge to to take a scientific approach to understanding what actually causes an rv refrigeration cooling unit to fail. Then use that information to design and build a cooling unit boiler that lasts a very very long time. The result was the best quality aftermarket cooling unit in the business. I literally grew up in the cooling unit business. I remember as early as 9 years old, getting off the school bus and running in the shop to help box, package and ship the orders for the day. I was already learning to weld by that time. Over the years i spent countless hours working with my dad learning every aspect of the business...painting, foaming, welding, running tube bender and all the other shop equipment, plant maintenance, building fixtures and molds and training new employees. By the time i graduated high school i was full time managing the production facility as well as full time telephone tech support for customers all over the country and doing full cooling unit installs on big units like the norcold 1200's.
